LAGOS WATER CORPORATION TO RESUSCITATE 48 MINI/MACRO WATERWORKS ACROSS LAGOS STATE

The Managing Director, Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Badmus has revealed that the Corporation is working towards reviving 48 Mini/Macro Waterworks across the State.

He made this assertion during the Pre-bid Conference for Emergency Rehabilitation/ Repairs of Boreholes and Treatment Works in Mini/Macro Waterworks in LWC, on Friday 24th March, 2017, at the Water house, Ijora, Lagos.

“The Corporation has the support of the Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to resuscitate 48 Mini/Macro Waterworks in Lagos State”.

The Waterworks include: Badore, Lekki, V/I. Ikeja, Epe, Ikoyi, Apapa, Bariga, Surulere, Ikate, Igando, Ojoo, Ajangbadi, Ikorodu, Shomolu, Onikan, Eredo, Coker Aguda, Magodo, Ojokoro, Meiran, Ajegunle, Iwaya, Ijora Badia, Alexandra, Isheri-Osun, Iponri etc.

While expressing his profound appreciation, the MD thanked the Lagos State Governor and the State Executive Council for their outstanding gesture, and assured them of continued constant water supply in the State.

“On completion of these Waterworks with design capacity of about 100MGD, the water demand gap in the State will be drastically reduced”.

“I want to assure the general public that we shall continue to stand by our Mandate “to provide potable water to you all”.

While addressing the intending contractors at the Conference, he restated his commitment towards providing quality work and implored the prospective/intending contractors to do a diligent work, because it’s not a business as usual.

We are making efforts that only competent contractors are given opportunity to execute the waterworks projects, he said.

In his statement, the Corporation, COO, Engr. Deji Johnson warned that “the project is not a project for project sake, it is a project for improvements on the existing waterworks and towards optimal working performance/capacity of the existing facilities”.

It is a test case job for better performance, he concluded.
