LWC EXPRESSES SATISFACTION OVER TRANSPARENT BIDDING PROCESS

The Managing Director of Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Badmus has expressed his contentment with the successful but transparent disposal of the unusable items, owned by the Corporation, at a bidding event at the Corporation?s Headquarters, recently.

The bidding event which had previously been advertised in two national dallies, was attended by individuals and companies who bade for the items on sale. The Managing Director said the state of the economy has made compulsory the need for the Corporation to get financial backing to carry out its activities effectively, hence the reason some of its items are being disposed off.

The Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation, Engr Deji Johnson, said the Management has decided to look inwards to its many assets, to determine which could be sold off in a transparent manner so as to provide for accountability.

The Head of Procurement, LWC, Engr. Lawrence Adebola disclosed that before the final decision to begin the procurement process, the Corporation had sought and received approval from the Lagos State Government, and from the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency for guidelines on how to conduct the process.
