MD, LWC charges retirees to use retirement money judiciously
The Lagos Water Corporation, MD, Engr. Muminu Badmus has charged the LWC retirees to make judicious use of retirement money.
The LWC boss make the statement today at the 3rd batch of Bond certificates presentation at Ijora, Lagos
While delivering his lecture, he said “today is another memorable day not only for the 3rd Batch of LWC retirees, but also for the entire water corporation family.
He said God has been faithful to us, particularly the retirees who have served the Corporation meritoriously.
He added that, “you must begin to count your blessings, because it is not all who started this journey with you that made it to this point. That is why you all deserve this rare honour”.
MD thanked the retirees for their patience, commitment, hard work, loyalty and resourcefulness which they have exhibited over the years that assisted the Corporation to record unprecedented successes, and their contribution will continue to linger in LWC memories.
“To take us to memory lane the first bond presentation of 68 million to 36 retirees was done in March 2017, the second batch was in July, 2017 where the sum of 20 million naira was paid to seven retirees”.
He said all are in agreement with pensioners, payments of outstanding accrued rights benefits done in the sequence of staff retirement from the year 2015.
Engr. Muminu was delighted that another history was made today as the sum of Eighteen Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira bonds were presented to seven retirees who have been selected as qualified recipients for the 3rd batch accrued rights benefits.
He urged them that when received the money, it should not be used for needless ventures, but channeled towards profitable endeavors as no one is too old to dream big and set new goals.
‘’You have retired, but not tired, I pray that God Almighty directs your footsteps, gives you wisdom, and grants you good health with long life’’.
