LWC WATER QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVIDES INTERNAL TRAINING TO DEVELOP STAFF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

Internal training offers employers and employees/staff advantages that are not found when you send an employee to an external training program or seminar.

Training transfer occurs more naturally and employees cement learning through training other employees.

Lagos Water Corporation as part of its Human/ Staff Capacity Building for efficiency and effectiveness is known to be conducting Staff training to the Corporation employees, through various mean, such as seminars, workshops, training, amongst other.

The Corporation’s Water Quality Assurance Department on Wednesday 26th February, 2020, at the Iju and Adiyan waterworks provided Internal training to develop Departmental Staff Knowledge and Skills to perform excellenctly in the course of discharging their daily assignments/duties.

In his opening remarks, the Head of water Quality Assurance Department, Mr. Doyin Omotayo stressed that on-the-job training is designed to enhance an employee’s skills and ensures her readiness for the next promotion, eligibility for internal transfers and above all, to excel in his/her daily activities/assignments.

“The Training program centers on: # Analytical Reagent Preparation; Principles & Standard method.

Water Microbiology & Sampling Technique; Principle & Standard method”.

Adding that In-house training was divided into three (3) groups, A, B & C and generally far superior to a public seminar, workshops, which also helps in Capacity Building among Water Quality Assurance Officers within the Corporation.

Explaning that, In a development context, “capacity building” often refers to strengthening the skills, competencies, and abilities of people and communities in developing societies so they can overcome the causes of their exclusion and problems.

Mr. Omotayo however, lauded the LWC Management, led by the MD/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus for his support on the realization and success of the training exercise towards moving the Corporation forward.

It is worthwhile to mention that the LWC Water quality monitoring team (Water Quality Assurance Department) is presently conducting a regular water quality routine checks (sampling and in-situ Analysis) on water delivered to her customers.
