NSE Apapa branch Courtesy visit to LWC: “YOU HAVE DEMONSTRATED PASSION, RE-AFFIRMED COMMITMENT TO THE ENGINEERING PROFESSION” – NSE Apapa Branch

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Apapa branch has showered encomium and accolades to the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus, by demonstrating passion and reaffirmed commitment to the Engineering profession.

This assertion was made during the Courtesy visit of the NSE, Apapa Branch to the LWC, Headquarters, Water-House, Ijora, Lagos, today Wednesday 28th December, 2022.

In his opening statement, the Chairman, NSE, Apapa branch, Engr. Babatunde Owode thanked and appreciated the LWC MD/CEO for his wonderful introductory remarks, requesting for close working relationship between the Corporation and NSE.

Engr. Owode stated that the Professional body is requesting for Office and Meeting space within the Corporation, because the current NSE, Apapa branch Secretariat has been concessioned.

In his contribution, the branch Inaugural Chairman, Engr. Akintunde Salami Zedomi added that the LWC boss has solved their problems through his introductory speech, adding that the meeting space should be able to accommodate not less than fifty (50) members at a meeting of maximum three (3) hours, also, the office space should be suitable and fit for the Administrative secretary and equipments.

While responding to the requests, the LWC MD/CEO, Engr. Badmus said that the Professional body has come to the right place and assured the visitors of Meeting and Office space, while directing the Director, Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Sheriff Akinpelu to work with the Director, Property and General Services, Mrs. Titilola Kareem Ganiat on necessary arrangements.

Proir to the conclusion of the arrangements, Engr. Badmus, however has given his approval to host meeting (s), but enjoined the members of the NSE, Apapa to further liaise with the Director, A&HR on necessary arrangements.

LWC boss, therefore encouraged his Staff to be an active members of NSE and other Professional bodies/Organizations and take full advantages, which include Experience and Knowledge sharing, through presentations, workshops, seminars among others.

The NSE, Apapa last visited the Water-house, Ijora in 2001, during the administration of former Managing Director, Engr. ‘Shayo Holloway, where he became a member of NSE, Apapa, since then the body has been working in partnership with the Corporation.

Recall that Engr. Badmus led administration had earlier granted a meeting space to the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN, Lagos Mainland Branch, as a demonstration of Goodwill, Cooperation and Support among LWC and the Accounting profession.
