LASG ASSURES LAGOSIANS ACCESS TO POTABLE WATER – DR. BABATUNDE ADEJARE

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Babatunde Adejare has assured Lagosians access to Potable Water. Dr. Adejare disclosed this during his presentation at the Ministry of Environment 2017 Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate the second year in office of his excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor of Lagos State, held today at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre, Alausa, Ikeja.

While answering questions from the Media, the Commissioner said “nobody ever envisaged that the State population will be over 25million, and that’s why the State is continuing building more facilities/infrastructures across the State to provide Water for all”.

He further said, presently, the Corporation is producing 210MGD and the demand is over 700MGD. He said, the State is investing heavily in water sector to close the demand gap.

Dr. Babatunde Adejare, in his statement enumerated some projects commissioned/embarked upon by the State Government through Lagos water Corporation? to improve service delivery to every homes in Lagos State, such as 2MGD Mosan Okunola and 4MGD Otta Ikosi Regional Water Scheme, the ongoing 70MGD Adiyan II, the recently approved 100MGD Odomola Water Scheme, the Rehabilitation of 48 waterworks across Lagos, among others, he concluded.
