LWC ADJUDGES AS MOST RESPONSIVE ORGANISATION IN SETTLEMENT OF RETIREMENT BENEFIT

The Lagos Water Corporation has been adjudged as most responsive Organisation, when it comes to the settlement of retirement benefit of Retirees. The assertion was made today 25th July, 2017, by Mrs. Agbabiaka, representing the Director General, LASPEC (Lagos State Pension Commission), Mrs. Folashade Onanuga, during the Second (2ND) Bond Certificates presentation ceremony of LWC Retirees, held at the LWC, Water House, Ijora, Lagos.

She commended the Corporation under the Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Water Corporation Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus towards prompt settlement of retirement benefit of LWC retirees and keeping to his promises.

While delivering his speech, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus restated the Corporation?s commitment towards quarterly payment/settlement of retirement benefits of LWC retirees. The Managing director said, ?I am highly delighted, that today the 2nd Bond Certificates presentation ceremony of LWC Retirees is possible because of the commitment of the Management and Staff of the Corporation, as I made and kept my promise.

?Today Seven (7) 2015 retirees of LWC would be presented with the sum of N20million (Breakdown: N18million as Bond Amount and N2million as Unremitted Pension)?, he said under the new pension scheme, this will reduce the waiting period for contributors to access their Retirement Savings Account. He further thanked His Excellency, Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode for his unflinching support towards the payment of the benefits.

The LWC boss stated that, earlier this year, on the 14th March, 2017, under the new scheme the Corporation expended the sum of 68 Million Naira on a total number of 36 retirees, whose bond certificates were presented to the retirees by the MD.

He commended the retirees for their patience, commitment, hard work, loyalty and resourcefulness toward positive and effective service delivery in Lagos State, as they are alive to reap the fruit of their labour.

The Lagos Water Corporation, Head, Human Resources and Administration Mrs. Aramide Alaka implored the retirees to use the money judiciously, as this is not the time for unprofitable social activities. She prayed that ?may God let every one of us reap the reward of our labour?. (Ki Olorun je ki afi owo arawa gba etoo wa, Amin), she concluded.
