FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WATER RESOURCES TOURS 70MGD ADIYAN WATER FACILITIES ON WATER GOVERNANCE

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources on Wednesday March 1st, 2017 visited the Adiyan Waterworks facilities as part of the Ministry’s educational program (a 5-day Training Seminar titled “Water Governance – Understanding the Rules of the Game”).

This is coming barely a week of the visit of the Kogi State Ministry of Water Resources to the Water house, Ijora Lagos on Commercial motive.

In his statement, the leader of the delegates, Engr. Olabode Fashoyi, the National Project Coordinator said the purpose of their visit is to “sensitize the participants of the program to the potentials for large bulk water production and processes that can avail them the real-life experience when it comes to planning for expansion of both supply and demand for urban water supply in their ever-expanding cities”.

The Adiyan Waterworks, Production Manager, Engr. Mustapha Olajide Agiri who received the delegates said the waterworks was constructed in 1991, with a production capacity of 70 million gallons per day.

He later took the delegates round the Waterworks facilities such as Filter bed, Clarifier, Clear Water Pumping etc and also explained the functions of each facilities to them.

In conclusion, Engr. Fashoyi Olabode, National Project Coordinator, (FMWR) thanked the LWC Management for the warm reception and usual cooperation.
