LASG FAULTS REPORT ON LAGOS WATER PROJECT
The Lagos Sate Government has debunked the recent report published in the Punch Newspaper, of Thursday 8th June, 2017, captioned ?Three firms bid for Lagos Water Project? This is contained in a statement issued by the Managing Director, Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Muminu Badmus on Friday, 9th June 2017, in his Ijora Office, Lagos.
The LWC Boss said, ?LWC disassociates itself from the publication, and has never granted any interview to the media on the issue on Wednesday as reported.?
He further stated unequivocally that the Corporation published an Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development of the 70MGD Adiyan Phase II Water Scheme through Public – Private Partnership in three national dailies namely, the Punch, the Guardian, the Nation ( Published January 12, 2017), and Global Water Intelligence, an internationally reputable water sector publication. This in pursuant to which Seven firms expressed interest and Four firms were shortlisted after evaluation process, namely-, AG Gold Trust Nigeria Limited, Vision Scape Water Solutions Limited / Metito, Veolia / Shoreline Group and Abegoa, Naston & Partners
Engr. Muminu Badmus restated that due diligence was carried out during the procurement process and evaluation that led to the emergence of the above-mentioned firms. On completion of the project, it will serve additional 3 million people in the western axis of the State, he added.
He harped on the Corporation?s commitment towards ensuring delivery of potable water to all households in the State, in consonance with the implementation of the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan, he concluded.
