LWC rewards outstanding performance as South Region emerges Champion

Lagos Water Corporation rewarded outstanding performance for the month of August, 2017. The event under the Performance Enrichment Program (PEP) initiative took place at the Surulere Waterworks, Lagos, on the 21st September, 2017.

The monthly historical event witnessed notable dignitaries across the State with the presentation of certificates and awards to some outstanding Business Region and Zones in the Corporation.

While delivering his speech the LWC, Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus restated that the PEP concept was introduced two (2) months ago to accelerate the the transformation of the Corporation towards meeting its aspirations, goals and objectives.

“The model has started yielding its desired results by increasing the revenue generation of the Corporation, as well as overall performance of LWC.”

While presenting certificates and awards to the outstanding Regional Business Managers who had excelled along with their zones, the South region emerged as the overall best region for the month of August, 2017.?

The LWC boss said, the Corporation has proved to the world that the LWC Staff can meet set targets, if necessary tools are put in place. He promised to do his best to assist in improving performances.

He further stated that all the Staff are winners and appreciated everyone for their efforts, though there is room for improvement.?

We need to also continue enumeration exercise to update our database. The Corporation introduced metering system to check water usage. So that we can conserve and use it wisely.”

“We need to manage the water we produce, which is limited in quantity in order to get to other customers”.

He added that nearly all borehole in Lagos State is contaminated, though the State Regulatory agency is there to regulate the activities of borehole users.?

Engr. Muminu charged the entire Staff to be committed towards moving the Corporation forward, as a good ambassador of LWC. He said the LWC consultant is presently working on GIS and assets management.

In his statement, the LWC coordinating Operation Officer, Engr. Deji Johnson said metering concept is a means of increasing water production capacity, access to potable water by our numerous customers and increase in revenue generation of the Corporation.

He further mentioned that LWC has finalised arrangement to stop collection of cash in all our zonal offices across the State.?

“This is in line with the State Government Cashless policy, as to make payment much more easier by paying through phones, bank, online etc.”

The Corporation, Head, Projects And Strategy, Mr. Ogunlana sikiru enumerated water challenge as a major factor for introducing the Performance Enrichment Programming (PEP). He added that the Corporation introduced metering initiative as a way of Conserving water which is limited in supply.?

Mr. Ogunlana urged the members of Staff to take the metering concept (PEP) seriously as a way of moving the Corporation to greater height.

The LWC consultant, Managing Director, 2ML, Dr. Williams, in his contribution revealed that Change has come to Lagos, change has come to Lagos Water Corporation. He urged all the Business Regional Managers to continue putting in all their best, as the change will stop at their door step, because change has come!

He prayed for the Corporation success, and urged the Head, HR & Administration, Mrs. Alaka, Mrs. Bright Oridami and Mr. Sheriff Akinpelu and his team to continue their good work. He appreciated Mr. Ajose for his services.

One of the notable dignitaries present at the event, Professor Gbadegesin lauded the entire Staff, especially the Business Regional Managers to be hard working. “I want you to believe in your hard work”, as the popular saying goes “Ise logun Ise”, ?nd charged them not to relent in their efforts.

Professor Gbadegesin commended Engr. Muminu Badmus for his commitment, hard work towards moving the Corporation forward, as he is an ambassador of hard work, he concluded.
