NORTH WEST REGION OVERTHROWS SOUTH EAST, BECOMES OVERALL CHAMPION IN THE NOV./DEC., 2017 EDITION OF PESP
There is this popular saying that “No position/condition is permanent in life and the only permanent thing in life is change”.
“Life is full of changes and surprises”, as history was rewritten in Lagos Water Corporation today Tuesday 23rd January, 2018, when changes in the ladder of leadership of LWC Business Regions emerged.
The Lagos Water Corporation North West Region emerged and completely overthrown the South East Region as the latest/current and overall Champion of Champions at the November/December edition of Performance Enrichment Sustainability Program (PESP) held at the LWC, Headquarters. Ijora, Lagos.
While presenting the prestigious trophy to the North West Regional Business Manager, Mr. Olumide Jacob, popularly known as Jakobia, the Corporation, Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Deji Johnson stated that hard work really pays as this is manifested today, as the North West was crowned the new Champion.
The COO, who represented the LWC, MD/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus Badmus urged other regions to imbibe the culture of hard work and be totally committed to their official responsibilities to move the Corporation forward.
He charged the entire staff to perform optimally to improve on the dropping revenue of the Corporation.
To take you to the memory lane, the South East Region under the leadership of Mr. Kunle Imam had earlier emerged as champion for the month of July and Overall Champion of the month of September, 2017 respectively, while South Region led by Mrs. Odimayo Yinka declared Champion for the month of August 2017.
The Performance Enrichment Sustainability Program (PESP) was launched on Tuesday 31st October 2017, at the Ikoyi Waterworks, Ikoyi, Lagos to sustain the PEP initiative, improve the service delivery of potable water supply to Lagosians and revenue generation of the Corporation.
The program in its first quarter witnessed some outstanding performances from LWC Business Regions, which resulted to improved revenue generation of the Corporation.
Presently, the Corporation has continuously experiencing drop in revenue generation, which is alarming and of great concern to the Management.
Following this development, the top management staff recently met with the 8 RBMs to proffer a lasting solutions to the predicament.
One of the outcomes of the meeting was the Celebration of South East heroes at the Surulere Waterworks, yesterday Monday, 22nd January, 2918 to encourage the Staff for improved/better performances.
Another Program introduced for improved efforts of each and every Staff of the Corporation is the Service Incentive Model (SIM) to bring out the very best in every Staff of the Corporation.
On this note, we congratulate Mr. Olumide Jacob led region, as they emerged Champion of Champions.
