LWC TAKES TO LAGOS STREETS TO CELEBRATE WORLD WATER DAY IN A GRAND STYLE

IJORA, LAGOS Lagos Water Corporation today 22nd March, 2018 took to Lagos Streets to celebrate/commemorate year 2018 World Water Day in a grand style.

This is another/different fashion of celebration known as “Road Show” from common workshop and seminars known of for many years.

“The theme for this year World Water Day is: “Nature for Water”.

The Corporation’s Staff went out in a large number to Lagos Streets to sensitize the public about on Water Conservation and Judicious use of Water which is limited in quantity. Also, to educate Lagosians how to connect to Public Water within 3 days.

Fliers were distributed to the general Pubic on Water tips and procedure for Water Connection as souvenir to take home.

The movement covered 8 LWC Operational regions and Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos.

The Headquarters’ team train took off from Ijora-Olopa stopped at oyingbo, Sabo, followed Ikorodu road, (Palmgrove) Ojota/Ogudu, Gbagada, Bariga among other area.

The LWC boss, Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus Who is unavoidability absent for the WWD Celebration wished the Staff successful outing and a hitch free celebration.

While briefing the media and Staff before the take-off, the LWC, Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Deji Johnson, who represented the MD/CEO enjoined the participants/Staff to be a worthy ambassador of the Corporation and be polite while attending to Customers.

He stressed that the outing his in line with the activities line up for the 3-day 2018 Word Water Day celebration, adding that the importance of provision of Water supply in the State cannot be underestimated.

Engr. Johnson said “we need to sensitize the public to conserve water which is limited in supply, so that other people can enjoy the service”.

The State Governor, Mr. Akimwunmi Ambode has invested so much on Water provision, so that every household in the State can enjoy effective service, so we need to conserve and make judicious use of it.

Earlier, on Monday 19th March, 2018, the Corporation organised “Free Water Test” across the State to confirm the quality of Water the Corporation is supplying the Lagos residents, noting that borehole Water is contaminated.

Public Water is potable, safe and free from germs and other pathogens.

Tuesday was Pre event Media briefing and Inauguration of Water Ambassadors to serve as mouth piece for the Corporation to disseminate information to the Public on Water Conservation, reportage of burst pipes among others.

Today, Thursday 22nd March, 2018 “Road show brought an end to the 3-day event.
