LAGOS RESIDENTS LAUD WATER CORPORATION OVER MOBILE APP
Lagos residents have lauded the Lagos Water Corporation, LWC, over its newly introduced LWC Mobile App for the improvement in the processes of billing collection and customers management.
Other new technologies lauded by the residents included the Water Metering Initiative, Geographical Information System (GIS), Asset Management for Operation Efficiency and Management of Infrastructure and Water Supply, among others.
The assertion was made recently at the Customers Sensitisation Forum held in Lagos to explain Steps to download and install the LWC Mobile Apps.
The corporation’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Engr. Muminu Badmus, while speaking at the forum revealed that the introduction of the LWC Mobile App was to improve the efficiency in the processes of billing collection and customers management, adding that customers could make payments in the comfort of their homes.
While explaining the steps, Badmus said the application could work on Android phones, and that as such, customer should possess the LWC Customer Reference Number to have access to all the functions and operations of the application.
“On your Android phone, go to Play Store, search column and type LWC Mobile App and Click on Download. After that, click on install after downloading, open the application for usage and remember you need to sign up as a customer if you want to access all the functions on the Mobile App,” he explained.
He added that customers should click on the right hand corner of the Mobile App , and that a drop-down list would appear with various option.
“On the drop-down list, sign up and provide all the details required of you. This details will help provide you with a username and password to use the LWC Mobile App effectively.
“In addition, a mail will be sent to the email address provided by you which will contain your username and password , and type in this username and password on the LWC Mobile App and you can now use all the utilities /functions of the App,” explained.
Badmus further insisted that only LWC customers with Customer Reference Number could perform this task effectively.
A resident of White Metta area, Mr. Azeez Babajide, lauded the corporation’s efforts towards making payments more easy, as water delivery/service had improve in the community, urging fellow customers to pay water bills as at when due, as a way to assist the corporation to sustain its operation.
Another resident, Mrs. Gloria Adams, advised the Water Corporation to always inform the public whenever there was water disruption and enjoined the Corporation to do more in closing water demand gap in the State.
She, therefore, commended the LWC Mobile App initiative as a remarkable idea and stress free method of making payments.
However, the Project Coordinator, Mr. Chidozie Agbakwuru enjoined Lagos residents, particularly the Water customers to adopt the new technology, noting that the App was also designed for the customers to enable them send requests or complaints, check payments, accounts statement and any other related records in terms of consumption, meter reading, among others, adding that the App was Customer friendly.
