GOVERNOR’S COMMITTEE ON LAGOS WATER VISITS ADIYAN WATER PLANT TO EVALUATE OPERATIONS

In its continuous efforts to rejuvenate and improve the activities and operations of the Lagos Water Corporation towards improving her services to ever increasing population of the State, the Governor’s Committee on Lagos Water visited the LWC Adiyan waterworks on Friday 26th June, 2020 as parts of its working visit to evaluate LWC Operations.

The Governor’s Committee on Lagos Water was set up by Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (Governor of Lagos State) led administration to intervene and assist the Corporation in her operations.

The committee is to evaluate the current activities and operations of LWC and recommend to the Governor on how to improve the services and operations of the largest Water Corporation in sub-sahara Africa.

The Committee was led by the Chairman, Commissioner for Energy and Resources, Mr. Olalere Odusote, in company of the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Sam Egube; Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Rabiu Olowo Onaolapo; Consultant on Lagos Water, Mr. Tolu Aina, and received at the Adiyan waterworks, by the LWC Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus.

While receiving the committee at the Operational/Administration Building of Adiyan waterworks, the LWC boss who was accompanied by the LWC Head (Production) Engr. Kudehinbu Adesoji; Adiyan Production Manager, Engr. Mustapha Agiri; Deputy Production Manager, Engr. Odusanmi; amongst others took them round the LWC largest Waterworks of 70Million Gallons per Day (MGD).

Amongst places/facilities visited were: Filter beds, Clearifier, Intermediate Pumping Station (IPS), Clear Water Pumps, Construction site of Salini Building, Adiyan II, amongst others.

Earlier, on Wednesday 24th June, 2020 the Consultant on Lagos Water met with the Management of LWC, and discussed the activities and operations of LWC.

The Committee is expected to continue its working visit to Akute Intakes, Iju Waterworks later next week.
