LASG, LWC EXCITES RETIREES, PRESENTS BOND CERTIFICATES TO 2019 BATCH

Lagos Water Corporation 2019 retirees were full of excitements on Wednesday 2nd September, 2020, as Lagos State Government through Lagos Water Corporation presented Bond Certificates to the 1st batch of year 2019 retirees.

The memorable event took place at the LWC Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos, in which bond certificates were presented to the retirees who retired from active service in 2019.

While delivering the keynote address, the Corporation’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus who was delighted at the presentation ceremony, recalled that he had made a promise to always pay retirement benefits/dividends promptly to LWC retirees, when he came on board on 2nd November, 2015.

In his presentation, he said, “What is happening today is another fulfilment of promise made, as this presentation is the 8th batch of bond presentation in the history of the Corporation, as LWC leads.

” The essence of the bond Certificate is for the retirees to make easy access to their retirement savings accounts from their respective pension managers”.

GMD/CEO therefore thanked the retirees for their patience, commitment, hard work, loyalty and resourcefulness towards positive and effective service delivery while in active service, as he implored them to spend the money judiciously, and not on unprofitable social activities.

He further stated that the delay in this batch Bond Certificates presentation is as a result of outbreak of Covid-19 Pandemic which is slowing down economy and social activities globally, particularly, Lagos State, Nigeria, adding that last (7th batch) bond Certificates presentation happened in December, 2019.

Nonetheless, the LWC boss praised God Almighty for sparing the lives of the retirees to reap the fruits of their labour in good and sound health.

He however commended Lagos State Government, under the leadership of the State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his unflinching Support and assistance always towards prompt payment of the retirement benefits and also, improved service delivery in Lagos State. also thank the LWC Management, entire Staff and Unions/Associations (AUCPTER, SSASCGOC) for their steadfast and efforts towards realisation of the payments.

Engr. Badmus hoped to complete the 2019 retirees payment by end of this year to commence payment of year 2020 batch by year 2021 by God’s grace.
