LWC COMMISSIONS WATER QUALITY CONSULTANCY LABORATORY, ASSURES RESIDENTS CONSUME QUALITY AND SAFE WATER

Lagos Water Corporation, Water Quality Assurance has Commissioned Water Quality Consultancy Laboratory to ensure that residents consume quality and germ free Water supply.

This was revealed recently at the Corporation’s Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos.

While commissioning the Consultancy Laboratory,
the State Water Provider, LWC, stated that the Lab would render Water Analysis Services to the general public to ascertain that residents consume quality and Safe Water, Water that conforms with World Health Organization’s (WHO) Standard.

LWC further explained that the Consultancy Laboratory Analysis Services include: Physio-Chemical Analysis (Tests of physical and chemical profile of water sample), Microbiological Analysis (Tests of the microbiological quality of water sample) and Full or Comprehensive Analysis (Tests the physical, chemical and microbiological profile of water sample).

Others are: Chemical Demand Test – Determines the water treatment chemicals and the quantity required to make the water sample potable, and Treatment Chemicals Analysis (Determines the potency of water treatment chemicals), among others.

Under this project, Water Consumers are expected to bring their water samples to the Corporation for analysis on payment of a token.

However, the Corporation has reiterated that the project would complement the activities of LWC Water Quality Monitoring/Sensitisation and Awareness Campaign to monitor Water quality at Customers’ taps to ensure residents are served with potable and germ free water supply.
