NIWE COURTESY VISIT TO LWC: LWC Okays NIWE Lagos Chapter Secretariat domicile in Water-House, Ijora

…urges Staff to be an active members

Lagos Water Corporation has okayed the Nigerian Institute of Water Engineers (NIWE) Lagos Chapter Secretariat domicile in LWC water-House, Ijora.

The endorsement to the request made by the National body of the Institute was made known recently in Lagos during her Courtesy visit to LWC Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos.

In his statement, the LWC Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus urged the Corporation Staff members to be an active members towards moving the Institute forward.

The NIWE National Chairman, Engr. (Mrs). Chinyere Nnenna Igwegbe in company of the National Vice Chairman (NIWE) Engr. (Dr.) Adeyinka Sabowate; NIWE National Coordinator, Engr. T. E. Adeboyeji; National Coordinator, Engr. Dominic Onuh Nkuboh, among other executive members has visited LWC to appreciate and felicitate with Engr. Muminu Badmus led Administration for their contributions and achievements in Water Sector.

“We have come to LWC to partner and promote NIWE Chapter in LWC, as there are large numbers of Engineers in the Corporation.

” As long as you have something to do with Water, Service provider, Water Engineers, you are free to join the Institute”.

The National Chairman however thanked the Management of LWC for the approval and rear opportunity, as the Corporation has extended such privilege to other professional bodies, such as Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), amongst other.

NIWE is a division of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, with the objective to serve as an umbrella professional body for Engineers and Associates from Water related disciplines to ensure effective utilisation of human and materials resources for the professional development and enhancement of professional competence of its members through capacity building programmes, public awareness/campaign, publication of journals and promotion of WASH through the establishment of Water and Hygiene Clubs in Secondary schools.

Prominent LWC Engineers present were: Engr. Bolaji Ogunlewe, Engr. Ibraheem Yinusa Abiodun, Engr. O A. Orioye, Engr. Saheed Olatunji, Engr. Ogunwusi and Engr. Festus Omoike.

The NIWE National Conference is coming up between 12th – 15th September, 2022.
