LAGOS SECURES FIVE-YEAR USAID GRANT TO REHABILITATE WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
The Lagos government has secured a five-year grant from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to rehabilitate water infrastructure across the state.
The upgrades aim to enhance water availability, reduce disruptions, and improve sanitation services.
Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), through the Lagos Urban Water Sanitation and Hygiene (LUWASH) programme, will oversee the first phase, which involves rehabilitation of five mini waterworks to scale up capacity for the supply of safe water in five communities in Lagos, such as Badore, Lekki, Victoria Island, Victoria Island Annex, and Ajegunle.
The second phase of the USAID grant will extend the rehabilitation to other locations, including Oshodi waterworks.
