Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday assured that Phase 2 of the Adiyan Water Works project, expected to supply Lagos residents with seventy million gallons of water per day, will be completed within the next 10 to 12 months.
Sanwo-Olu, accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, gave this assurance during a working visit to the Adiyan Water Works site, expressing satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing construction.
The governor disclosed that the project was currently at 80 per cent completion, emphasising his administration’s unwavering determination to ensure its timely completion before the end of his tenure in fulfilment of his promise to provide Lagosians with better access to potable water.
“We remain committed to fulfilling our promise of providing Lagosians with better access to potable water,” he said.
Speaking further, Governor Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the cooperation of residents in the areas surrounding the construction site, which he said had contributed significantly to the smooth progress of the project.
He assured that the Adiyan Water Works, once completed, would vastly improve the socio-economic conditions of residents by improving their access to clean water, which would in turn enhance their overall quality of life.
