Akilo Residents To Enjoy Access To Potable Water Supply Soon, As The Waterworks Set To Breathe New Life

Lagos, Nigeria – Thursday 20th March 2025 – The residents of Akilo and adjoining communities are to enjoy access to potable water supply from the ongoing rehabilitation of Akilo Micro Waterworks, as the project sets to breathe new life.

The Lagos Water Corporation (LSWC) has partnered with WaterAid Nigeria and Armani Beauty to rehabilitate the Micro Waterworks in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Council Development Area.

The project is designed to enhance potable water supply, which will provide over 100,000 residents/households within the area, with access to clean water through water kiosks and household connections within six months.

Speaking recently at the official contract signing event held at the corporation’s headquarters in Ijora, the LSWC Managing Director, Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani (MTT) emphasized the significance of the project, as he acknowledged the importance of this project.

Upon completion, the rehabilitated Akilo Micro Waterworks is expected to significantly improve access to safe and sustainable water supply within.
