Lagos Water Corporation Inducts New Employees to Strengthen Workforce

…urges employees to make the most of the opportunity.

The Lagos Water Corporation (LWC) has successfully inducted newly recruited employees as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and enhance service delivery to Lagos residents.

The induction ceremony, held today Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, formally welcomed the new officers and acquainted them with the Corporation’s core values, the State’s THEMES+ Agenda, and other guiding principles.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services, Engr. Mahmood Olakunle Adigbite, welcomed and congratulated the newly recruited employees, urging them to take the forthcoming evaluation process seriously.

“You must successfully pass the evaluation to be fully integrated as staff. It is not just a formality, but a process to ensure you understand the ethics and values of the State and the Corporation. This is a very important stage for both the State and your careers.

“You are now part of us. We value your ideas and expect everyone to work collaboratively,” he said.

In his address, the Managing Director of the Corporation, Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, expressed appreciation to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Dr. Gaji Omobolaji Tajudeen; the Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services, Engr. Mahmood Olakunle Adigbite; and the Director-General of PSSDC, Dr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, for their continued support. He also commended the Corporation’s Management team, describing the induction programme as a rare privilege.

He urged the new employees to appreciate the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for making the recruitment possible, noting that the exercise represents a renewed commitment to strengthening the organisation’s brand.

The Managing Director further emphasised that the recruitment process was deliberate and strategic, adding that the induction programme is a critical step in aligning staff with the Corporation’s vision and objectives. He formally welcomed the new employees and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the growth and transformation of the Corporation, describing the induction as a key step towards its renewal and repositioning.

While delivering his welcome address, the Director-General of PSSDC, Dr. Adekunmilola Adio-Moses, congratulated the inductees and highlighted the importance of the induction programme in shaping workplace values and professionalism. He noted that participants would also be exposed to the operational facilities of the Corporation as part of their training.

Dr. Adio-Moses encouraged the inductees to remain focused, united, reliable, and committed to excellence, while wishing them a successful training exercise.

The induction programme is designed to equip the new employees with the knowledge and orientation necessary to effectively contribute to the realisation of the Corporation’s mandate. Participants are expected to uphold the highest standards of service, accountability, and teamwork.

The event was attended by the Executive Director, Operations, Engr. Helen Omolanke Taiwo, Heads of Departments, and other senior management staff of the Corporation.

The newly inducted employees also shared insights gained during the training sessions with dignitaries present. They expressed appreciation for the opportunity to join the Corporation and pledged to contribute meaningfully to its mission of improving service delivery across the State.
